About that GhostShip 2014 un-planned cutoff.

Here’s a little something to make up for that unplanned early ending on Saturday night at GhostShip 2014.   It’s something I did for myself, that is totally self-indulgent, and I think nearly perfect for putting in your regular rotation for driving, or that commute etc.   Whenever I do I end up at work in an especially good mood. But hey that’s me…   ENJOY!

Tighten up that strait jacket and wire up the electro shock therapy for a lineup announcement that is sure to create some buzz. After a massive response to its initial 2-night presale featuring James Lavelle (UNKLE) and Afrika Bambaataa, Ghost Ship Halloween unveils the rest of its incredible 2014 music lineup. Accomplished ringers Quivver, Myagi, and Birdee will play both nights and DC Nufunk superstar All Good Funk Alliance will play Saturday after Bambaataa. They will be joined by an eclectic mix of more than 50 DJs from the Bay Area’s top music crews appearing on 6 stages, including the Ghost Ship, the Hoe Down (Unimog), Bedlam, Dusty Rhino, Silent Frisco and the legendary Death Guild Thunderdome.

Space Cowboys host the event and are well represented by 14 of their finest artists spread over both nights. Ghost Ship welcomes back old friends Distrikt, who will host the “Bedlam” room on Friday before handing over to the Janky Barge crew on Saturday. The legendary Brass Tax send a contingent of their own bugged-out beat-diggers to play on Friday. The Thunderdome crew will make their first appearance at Ghost Ship Halloween hosting the fully operational and participatory Death Guild Thunderdome with their own spooky lineup of goth, darkwave and industrial Djs. Dusty Rhino will serve as an outdoor sound stage for both nights with Rhino DJ’s being joined by friends from Seismic and Friends & Family (Friday) and Strategik (Saturday).  Silent Frisco will feature the most eclectic lineup of the weekend with artists from Afrolicious, Motown on Mondays (M.O.M.), Oakland Faders, Slayer’s Club, and Janky Barge.

The musical upgrades to Ghost Ship don’t just extend to the breadth of the talent but touch on every aspect of production. Sound systems and sound reinforcement have been drastically reconfigured to improve sound quality and mitigate bleed. The main stage will feature the Ghost Ship itself on a deluxe PK line-array system. The Space Cowboys Unimog stage will recreate their legendary “Hoedown” artcar circle. Distrikt and Janky Barge will create a padded-walled “Bedlam.” Silent Frisco will move its immersive 360 degree video into a massive outdoor circus tent. New outdoor stages will be hosted on the Dusty Rhino artcar and the aforementioned Death Guild Thunderdome. With yet more to announce, it’s clear that Ghost Ship Halloween 2014: Asylum is already well on its way to driving the Bay Area crazy.
